Short version: we collect as little as possible, we don't sell anything to anyone, and if you want your details gone you email us and they're gone.

What we collect

  • Things you send us. If you email us or book a chat, we keep your name, email, phone number and whatever you tell us about your business - so we can reply and quote the work.
  • Basic site analytics. Page views, referrer and rough location (city level), collected in aggregate so we know which pages are worth keeping. No advertising trackers and no cross-site profiles.

What we don't do

We don't sell, rent or trade your details. We don't add you to a mailing list because you emailed us once.

Who else sees it

Only the tools we need to run the business - email, calendar, invoicing and site hosting. Each of them holds your data under their own terms and only for as long as we're using them.

Client content

When we run your socials we get access to your accounts, assets and sometimes your customers' comments and messages. We treat all of it as yours: we use it to do the work, we don't reuse it elsewhere without asking, and access is handed back when the engagement ends.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't turn into work are deleted within twelve months. Client records are kept as long as the law requires us to keep business and tax records, then deleted.

Cookies

The site itself sets no cookies. Analytics may set one to avoid counting you twice; blocking it changes nothing about how the site works.

Your call

You can ask what we hold, ask us to fix it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@howyagoinmedia.com and we'll sort it within 30 days. If we've handled it badly you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
